Turbine Efficiency moves into Solar power with GTA acquisition

3 January 2019

Turbine Efficiency Group, independent service provider to Siemens industrial gas turbines in the 1 – 15 MW range (SGT-100, SGT-200, SGT-300, TA, TB) has acquired Gas Turbine Applications (GTA), an after-market services provider specialising in Solar Turbines’ Saturn and Centaur industrial gas turbines. GTA, founded in 1984, serves a “longstanding customer base” and operates from facilities “strategically located” in Calera, OK, says Turbine Efficiency.

The enlarged group “will leverage its combined capabilities to service new and existing customers”, from overhaul facilities in the UK and US, and regional offices in Aberdeen and Dubai.

GTA will be led by managing director Rob Leach (previously MD, Brush USA) supported by operations manager, Mark Blake who is remaining with the business.

Chris Turner, CEO of Turbine Efficiency, commented: “The acquisition of GTA represents the exciting completion of a key strategic objective in the ambitious expansion plans for Turbine Efficiency, bringing with it the extension of our global footprint and the Turbine Efficiency brand into the critical Americas market.”

Founded in 2001, Turbine Efficiency was acquired by Core Capital Partners in 2016, a mid-market private equity investor supporting high-growth UK companies.
