Developed by Thamesway Energy, the 1.35MW gas-fired combined heat and power station supplies energy services to local businesses and offices in and around Woking town centre, electricity via the public network to remote sites elsewhere in the borough, and cooling water from a heat powered absorption chiller.

The energy station is the first project of Thamesway Energy, a joint venture company formed by the Woking Borough Council owned Thamesway and Esco International, a subsidiary of Denmark-based Hedeselskabet.

The project has been supported by the Energy Saving Trust.
