The Le Souleilla, near Perpignan, wind farm, a joint venture of UK company RES and French company Eole Technologie, is to be increased from its present six 1.3 MW turbines to 16, total capacity 20.8 MW, making it the largest wind farm in France. The existing site was completed at the end of 2000, with Bonus turbines and construction by Eole-RES. The joint venture has already won power purchase agreements for seven wind farms altogether, totalling almost 80 MW. This makes it the market leader in France. RES projects elsewhere in the world are operating or being developed in the USA, Portugal, Ireland, France as well as in Asia and the Caribbean, ranging in size from 3 to 280 MW.
