The plans call for a two unit 800 MW facility to be developed in the town of Eisenhuttenstadt. The €400 million station is scheduled for commissioning in 2010.

Soteg, a major natural gas and electricity supplier in Luxemburg, is held by the state followed by E.ON Ruhrgas with a fifth of the equity along with a number of smaller holding companies.
