The Israeli Electric Corp (IEC), Israel’s state power utility, is planning to issue $300 million in bonds in the USA. IEC raised $400 million from a bond issue in the USA last July. In January, it raised a further $49 million in a private placement of bonds with domestic investors. The utility is seeking to raise around $1 billion this year, around the same amount as it raised in 1998. IEC is Israel’s largest non governmental borrower.
