Alstom to refurbish Norwegian hydro

8 September 2014

Energiselskapet Buskerud has awarded Alstom a €4 million contract to repair and refurbish the generator at the 25 MW Døvikfoss hydropower plant in Norway.

The dismantling works started in May 2014 and the assembly of the new and refurbished parts will be completed in June 2015, Alstom says

Located in southeastern Norway, the Døvikfoss hydro power plant was built in 1975 and exploits a head into the 48-kilometer long river named Drammenselva.

Alstom has successfully completed other hydro projects for EB in Norway, for example the Mykstufoss and Kaggefoss rehabilitation projects.
