AREVA’s Transmission and Distribution division has acquired Powermann Ltd, a UK company that specialises in the maintenance, installation, testing and commissioning of low, high and extra high voltage electrical plant and equipment.
This acquisition is the first for Areva's Services business unit and reinforces the state-owned French conglomerate's strategic positioning in the UK.
Powermann’s business includes both maintenance services and installation projects. The integration of the two organisations will allow AREVA to enhance its participation in its alliance with National Grid by providing more UK product installation and commissioning experts and to provide greater coverage for ite service offerings.
Mark Blaver-Mann, managing director at Powermann commented: “We believe that our greatest asset is our people and it was important for us to ensure that the future security and wellbeing of our employees was not jeopardised by AREVA T&D’s acquisition of the company.
