French renewables developer Neoen has submitted the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for a 350 MW solar power plant in New South Wales, Australia.
Neoen says that the EIS will be available for public examination throughout February and has been submitted to the New South Wales government as part of the planning process for the project, which will also include storage capacity.
lcairn will be built 70 km south of Wagga Wagga in southeast New South Wales and will comprise around 1.1 million photovoltaic (PV) panels equipped with single-axis trackers. The battery storage element of the project will total 100 MW/200 MWh.
Neoen plans to begin construction of the solar farm in Q4 2020. Operations are due to start in 2022.
