Siemens and Ansaldo, forming the consortium that is responsible for the 372 MWe Nehuenco facility, face the prospect of receiving compensation claims following repeated failures of the plant.
The plant has been off-line since June due to technical problems, its second breakdown this year. Following a delayed launch to the project, Siemens-Ansaldo were issued with a deadline to restore the facility to full operation.
