Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has bewailed the pollution caused by traditional sources of energy. He urged Asia to look more favourably at alternative sources of energy such as solar and hydro power.
He also underscored Venezuela's commitment to Asia, to maintaining its position as a major producer of fossil fuels, and maintaining stable oil prices. He said benefits could be gained by wider use of orimulsion.
