Vestas wins 442 MW order

25 June 2018

Xcel Energy has placed an order with Vestas for 442 MW of wind turbine capacity for installation in a number of projects in the USA.

Vestas will supply its V116-2.0 MW and V110-2.0 MW wind turbine units to Xcel, which has plans to add 3680 MW of new wind capacity across 12 projects in seven US states.

The order includes supply and commissioning of the turbines, Vestas said. Turbine delivery will begin in the fourth quarter of 2018.

Xcel Energy and Vestas previously partnered on the 600 MW Rush Creek wind project in Colorado, the largest wind project of its kind in the state.

Vestas also announced this month that it has received its first ever order in Panama.

The company will provide 20 of its V117-3.45 MW wind turbines for the 66 MW Toabré wind farm in the central province of Cocié. The order was placed by Elecnor.
