Wärtsilä wins Monterrey O&M contract

Central Generadora Electrica Huinala, S. De R.L. De C.V. has awarded Wärtsilä a ten-year operations and maintenance (O&M) contract for it power plant near Monterrey, Mexico.

The 139 MW power plant is based on Wärtsilä's Flexicycle technology and is due to start operating in April 2016. It features seven of the Finnish firm's 50SG gas engines, one of the largest gas engines available.

Under the O&M contract, Wärtsilä will be responsible for day-to-day operations including staffing as well as spare parts and maintenance. It will also aim to optimise performance of the power plant and attain lifecycle cost guarantees.

Central Generadora Electrica Huinala General Manager Juan Buitron said that the contract woulf ensure "improved power plant efficiency and financial predictability".
