Northern Electric Distribution Ltd (NEDL) has appointed PB Power as owner’s engineer for a $50 million upgrade to the power distribution system in the northeast of England. NEDL has identified 28 projects that will enhance the performance of its extra-high voltage distribution system involving refurbishment of existing high voltage substations, transformers, tower lines and power cables. Two main contractors will carry out the work, ABB and VA Tech/ Balfour Beatty Power Networks.
