Terra-Gen has brought the 125 MW Lockhart III solar project in San Bernardino County, California into commercial operation, expanding the company’s Lockhart energy complex as electricity demand rises across the state.

The site uses the existing gen-tie line to connect to Southern California Edison’s Kramer Junction Substation, which helped streamline the build-out. Terra-Gen said capacity from the project is backed by long-term agreements with corporate buyers and California load-serving entities, giving the asset a stable commercial foundation.

Terra-Gen chief executive John O’Connor said the project adds clean, reliable generation that can help ease pressure on the grid and support homes, businesses and manufacturing.

A fourth phase of the Lockhart solar complex is already under construction and is expected to reach commercial operation in Q3 2026, adding another 80 MW to the site.

Terra-Gen’s wider portfolio now includes wind, solar and battery storage assets across the US, with a strong concentration in California and Texas.
