Brighton Beach Power Station (BBPS) is being developed by ATCO Power Canada Ltd and Ontario Power Generation, Inc, as a new natural gas-fired combined cycle generation facility. To be built at the site of the former J C Keith generating station near Windsor, Ontario, Canada, the plant will have vertical gas-flow natural circulation heat recovery steam generators. These are popular in Europe and Asia, but are not commonly used in North America.

Hybrid power for Mexico City

The 300 MWe oil-fired Valle de Mexico plant is being repowered with three new GT11N2 gas turbines plus HRSGs. The existing boiler and steam turbine will be retained, so that when operating in "hybrid" mode the plant's generating capacity will be 550 MW.

Located at UPM-Kymmene's huge Wisaforest pulp, paper and saw mill complex, close to Pietarsaari on the west coast of Finland, fuels include bark, sawdust, wood chips and peat, with coal as reserve.
