UKs model biomass plant gets under way

A consortium of Aker Kvaerner and Siemens has secured the contract for turnkey delivery of a biofuel-fired power station for E.On UK in Scotland. Currently under construction, it will be Britain's largest biomass power plant, saving up to 150 000 tons of CO2 emissions per annum, and is expected to be a model for future biomass plants in the UK.
