EDF has awarded a contract to DP CleanTech for a biomass fuelled CHP plant in the industrial zone north of Lingbao city, Henan province, China. Under a 30-year agreement with local government, the new facility will supply heat and power supply to local households.

The 130 t/h plant will occupy an area of 200 ha and burn agricultural and forestry wastes (apple branches, corn straw, mushroom cultivation waste). It is the 74th such project for DP in China, maintaining company’s “market leading share of ~34%”.

The new plant, expected to be operational in early 2019, will employ HTHP (high temperature high pressure) combustion technology. DP CleanTech says ten years ago it pioneered the use of European HTHP straw combustion technology in China.
