The Public Electricity Corp of South Yemen has selected PB Power as consulting engineers for a project to increase the security of supply in the country. The scheme involves construction of a new 132 kV transmission line between the towns of Hiswa and Khormaksar, a distance of roughly 20 km.

The project will include a new 132 kV GIS substation at Khormaksar and an extension to an existing 132 kV substation at Hiswa.

The project will reinforce the electrical supplies to a developing area near Aden’s airport in South Yemen. The overhead line must pass close to the airport and across salt pans, requiring special engineering considerations. PB Power will be responsible for contract administration and site supervision.
