The order has been placed by Windpark Q7 Holding, which is jointly owned by the Dutch utility ENECO, the Dutch developer Econcern and the Dutch investment company Energy Investments Holding.

The order comprises supply and installation of the wind turbines as well as a 5-year warranty and maintenance contract. The customer is responsible for the supply of foundations and grid connections through EPC contracts.

Delivery and installation is expected to take place during the second half of 2007 and the wind power plant will be completed and handed over during the first quarter of 2008.

In a related deal, a $33 million contract to supply power equipment and cable connections for Q7 has been won by ABB.

ABB will supply 24 kV underwater power cables connecting the turbines to a 150 kV offshore transformer station, plus a 170 kV underwater power cable linking the offshore transformer station to the onshore grid.

ABB will also supply and install primary equipment in the offshore transformer station, including a 140 MVA transformer, a 150 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), and a 24 kV GIS.

About 30 km from Amsterdam, Q7 will be the largest wind farm in the Dutch North Sea when it commences operation in 2007.
