The amount of energy to be auctioned totals 14.9 TWh, divided into five lots. The first will be held in June 2007 and every three months thereafter until June 2008.
The VPPs will consist of option contracts to purchase energy up to a specific hourly capacity, at a predetermined price. The options are in turn divided into base-load and peak-load options, with durations of three, six and nine months. The timeline for delivering the options will run from 1 July 2007 to 30 June 2009.
