E.On says it has taken over the activities of Vortex Energy in order to help it expand its onshore wind energy portfolio in Germany.
Kassel-based Vortex Energy has been developing, realising and operating onshore wind farms in Germany since 2004. The firm’s activities are an ideal match for E.On’s activities in the construction and operation of German wind farms, E.On said.
“We see strong growth potential for wind energy in Germany,” said Anja-Isabel Dotzenrath, CEO of E.On Climate & Renewables. “Vortex’s outstanding expertise and regional networking are a key factor for us to exploit this potential and compete for the best locations.”
Vortex’s pipeline of projects includes wind farms with a total volume of 300 MW and a large number of projects at an early stage of development. It will continue its business from Kassel with its 30 employees transferring to E.On after the acquisition.
