Göran Lindahl , ceo of ABB and architect of its transformation from heavy engineering into a high margin knowledge based IT company – albeit with interests in alternative energy and T&D – has unexpectedly resigned. Lindahl, 55, said it was time to hand over to someone with a true IT profile. He will be succeeded by Jörgen Centerman, head of the ABB automation division, on 1 January 2001.
