European Energy has signed an agreement with Twig Energy to operate and optimise its Måde hybrid park near Esbjerg in western Denmark. The site combines 8.1 MW of electrolysers, 16 MW of wind turbines and a 5 MW / 20 MWh battery, all under a single balancing arrangement.
This is the first time European Energy has used one balancing responsible party to optimise power generation, storage and flexible electricity offtake together at one site. The company says the setup can shift electricity between hydrogen production, battery storage and grid export depending on market conditions and system needs.
The Måde project is already operational and is now being optimised. European Energy says the arrangement reflects how renewable systems are becoming more complex, while Twig Energy says the site creates new opportunities for automation, grid support and real-time optimisation.
The project also fits European Energy’s broader push into Power-to-X and integrated renewable energy solutions in Denmark and beyond.
