AVK has launched its PowerPods generators, a new line of fully-integrated, pre-engineered modular power units built for hyperscale and AI data centres. Each unit consolidates UPS (uninterruptible power supply), engines, switchgear, controls, enclosures and transformers into a single transportable package that arrives ready to connect, with ‘technology-agnostic’ flexibility so operators are not locked into a single vendor. Units are available for deployment now, with short lead times.

The launch completes AVK’s end-to-end power train. The company says it is one of very few suppliers in Europe able to design, deliver and support the entire data centre power ecosystem.

AVK developed PowerPods against the backdrop of rapidly accelerating demand for digital infrastructure, with hyperscale operators requiring large-scale power that can be deployed quickly and with resilience. The new units are said to offer data centre operators a single partner for every stage of their energy infrastructure. AVK is able to design, deliver and support the entire data centre power ecosystem, from generation through to distribution and maintenance.

Capable of being delivered as bespoke units to meet the application-specific requirements of individual customers, PowerPods are said by their maker to be a ‘ready-to-deploy power plant from a range perfectly positioned to support the next wave of hyperscale data centres and AI infrastructure.’
