Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems has received an order for two steam turbine and generator sets for units 3 and 4 of a coal-fired power plant to be constructed at Limay, in the Philippines, by an independent power producer under the corporate umbrella of San Miguel Corporation (SMC), a local conglomerate. Each unit will have a power rating of 150 MWe. The equipment is scheduled for delivery in April and July 2016.
In 2013 MHPS also supplied steam turbines and generators for the Limay plant’s units 1 and 2. The new plant will be constructed by SMC Consolidated Power Corporation in Bataan Province in the southwestern area of Luzon Island.
MHPS will supply the steam turbines and generators, the core equipment of the plant, and also provide technical advisory services for installation and commissioning.
In addition to orders for the Limay power station’s units 1 to 4, in 2013 MHPS won an order for two sets of steam turbines and generators for units 1 and 2 of the Malita coal-fired power station, constructed by SMC’s power segment on Mindanao Island. The latest order thereby brings six units of steam turbine and generator sets to be supplied by MHPS to the plants under SMC’s umbrella in total.
