Baker Hughes acquires Brush power generation division

16 August 2022

Baker Hughes announced that it has agreed to acquire the Power Generation division of BRUSH Group from One Equity Partners. BRUSH specialises in electric power generation and management for the industrial and energy sectors, so the acquisition supports Baker Hughes’ strategic commitment to be a lead provider of decarbonisation solutions for the natural gas industry and other historically hard-to-abate sectors.

The addition of BRUSH will increase Baker Hughes’ core turbomachinery portfolio with electromechanical equipment, including electric generators, synchronous condensers, electric motors, and associated control power management systems. Through the acquisition, Baker Hughes also plans to optimise its supply chain by using the BRUSH manufacturing base and expanding its scope on customer projects in both the industrial and energy sectors.

BRUSH currently operates in four facilities in the UK, Czech Republic and The Netherlands, with aftermarket capabilities through service centres in the UK and USA.

The acquisition is expected to close in Q4 2022, upon receipt of all required customary regulatory approvals.
