Finland grants nuke building permit

Final approval for construction of Finland's fifth nuclear reactor, unit 3 at Olkiluoto station, has been granted by the government. Finland decided in 2002 to build the new 1,600 MW reactor on the country’s west coast. Finland currently has four nuclear reactors at two installations. The latest is scheduled to commence commercial operations in 2009.
