Nordex Group has received a new order in Türkiye from Balıkesir Elektrik Yenilenebilir Enerji Üretim ve Satış A.Ş., a subsidiary of Efor Holding, for the R25‑Balikesir‑2 Wind Power Plant (WPP). The contract includes the supply and installation of 18 N175/6.X turbines with a total capacity of 120 MW, delivered in the cold-climate version and mounted on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 119 metres. In addition, Nordex will provide 10‑year Premium Service support for the project.
The site lies about 35 km northwest of Balikesir, at elevations between 425 and 680 metres above sea level, a range that benefits from strong on‑site wind resources. Installation of the first turbine is scheduled for March 2027, with full commissioning planned for August 2027.
The project forms part of Türkiye’s YEKA RES‑2025 renewable energy framework, which links onshore wind capacity to local content rules and long‑term off‑taker support. R25‑Balikesir‑2 is the third Nordex‑powered wind farm for Efor Holding, following the Gelgit project in 2024 and the YEKA‑4 R24 Yellice plant in 2025.
Efor Holding Chairman İbrahim Akkuş described the 120 MW scheme as a key pillar of the group’s sustainable growth strategy, boosting energy portfolio depth and supporting domestic manufacturing, local jobs, and regional development. Ender Ozatay, Nordex Group Vice President for Türkiye and the Middle East, said the N175/6.X platform’s combination of high efficiency and cold-climate operation makes it well‑suited to the site, and that Nordex’s local manufacturing footprint and service network will help advance Türkiye’s renewable energy targets.
