Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) labelled a worker who had complained about nuclear plant safety as being mentally ill to force him out, ruled the US Labour Department. The department said the utility should pay Neil Aiken $70 000 in lost wages and damages and keep him employed at the Diablo Canyon nuclear plant until his fitness is independently evaluated.
PG&E denies breaking any laws, and will appeal against the finding.
