Shaw has announced that it has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Duke Energy Carolinas to build a new 800 MW supercritical coal-fired plant and a flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) system at Duke's existing Cliffside Steam Station in Rutherford and Cleveland counties, North Carolina.
