The Nysäter wind farm, located 400 km north of Stockholm, is now an important pillar of Sweden's green energy supply, following its official inauguration on 9 June. Its 114 turbines have a capacity of 475 MW. This makes Nysäter one of the largest wind farms in Europe, reducing CO₂ emissions across the continent by around one million tonnes annually.

RWE, which operates one offshore and 10 onshore wind farms in Sweden, has a 20 % stake in the project and will fully operate the wind farm. Energy Infrastructure Partners AG (EIP) holds 80 %. The project supports the Swedish government’s efforts to achieve its ambitious climate protection goals.

RWE has taken over the operation of further facilities on behalf of third parties and intends to further expand its prominent role in the renewable energy sector in Sweden. There are currently many more projects in the pipeline, it says.
