Dutch firm Vestas has received an order to supply 48 of its V112-3.0 MW turbines for First Wind’s Oakfield project the US state of Maine.
The order is a call-off on the master supply agreement announced in December 2013 for multiple US projects. To date, Vestas has secured 298 MW of a potential 718 MW under this MSA.
The scope of the order comprises delivery and commissioning of the wind turbines as well as a 10-year Active Output Management (AOM) 5000 service agreement.
Vestas expects deliveries for the Oakfield project to take place in the second quarter of 2015, with commissioning of the wind farm expected in Q4 2015.
First Wind has previously installed Vestas turbines at its Bull Hill project (34 MW) in Maine and its Palouse project (105MW) in Washington State, where it says they have ‘performed well.’
