The Gas Turbine division of Kawasaki Motors Corp USA and Catalytica Energy Systems have signed a collaborative agreement that will enable Kawasaki to market and sell a low emissions generator package to the emerging distributed power market. The package, known as GPB15X, includes a Kawasaki M1A-13X gas turbine incorporating Catalytica’s Xonon Cool Combustion system. Emission levels are claimed to be so low that is is difficult to measure them accurately. The system is a proprietary catalytic combustion system that is particularly tailored to gas turbines.
