RWE closed 2025 with another year of significant growth in the United States, adding 2 GW of new capacity and bringing its total operational portfolio across the country to nearly 13 GW. The German energy company’s latest projects, completed in December, span seven states and reflect broad diversification across wind, solar, and energy storage.
Fifteen new projects were commissioned during the year, including six solar farms, four battery energy storage systems and five wind developments. The expansions extended RWE’s US footprint into two new states – Kentucky and Louisiana – with the Ashwood and Lafitte solar projects, respectively. Other key additions include the 243 MW Peyton Creek II wind farm in Texas and the 273.6 MW Emily Solar site in Illinois.
The company said the combined projects created around 3,500 construction jobs in 2025 and are contributing more than $500 million in local tax revenues and community investments. These funds are supporting emergency services, schools, and public infrastructure, reinforcing RWE’s community-focused approach to renewable power development.

RWE’s total generation capacity in the US now exceeds 12.7 GW, supplying affordable, reliable electricity to households, businesses, and large energy users including data centres and manufacturing sites. The company holds power purchase agreements exceeding 2 GW with major technology clients and continues to expand its renewable platform to support US energy independence and grid reliability.
