Ontario Power Generation will convert the last half of its Lennox power plant to burn either natural gas or oil.
The $14.5 million conversion will be completed in spring 2000. Ontario Power said the switch will lead to air quality improvements. When burning natural gas instead of oil, the plant’s emissions of NOx will be reduced by 30 per cent, and CO2 emissions reduced by 20 per cent.
