YAMKO Energy and ILOS are moving their 100 MW green hydrogen project in Mantasia, central Greece, into technical optimisation and financial structuring after securing a Production Certificate and Environmental Impact Assessment approval.
The joint venture said the permits clear a major regulatory hurdle for one of the first projects of this scale in Greece. The plant, which will be powered by solar energy, is intended to supply carbon-free hydrogen to industrial customers and heavy transport users.
The project was originally planned at 50 MW, but has since been expanded to 100 MW, according to YAMKO’s website. ILOS said the latest approvals allow the partners to proceed to the next phase of implementation.
ILOS is a pan-European renewable energy IPP platform majority-owned by AXA IM Alts, while YAMKO Energy is a Greece-based developer focused on large solar projects with storage, molten salt technology and hydrogen.
