A 75 MW wind farm to be built in Texas will supply power to Central and South West Corp. The wind farm, to be built on a site 8 km south of McCamey, will use 113 wind turbines, each with a generating capacity of 660 kW. Plans for the project have been submitted to the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT).

Providing the project receives PUCT approval, the first wind turbine is expected to generate power at the site in December 1998. Commercial operation of the entire facility is expected by 1 June 1999.

The wind farm will be constructed by California company Foras Energy. Power from the project with be delivered to CSW under a power purchase agreement with FPL Energy.
