Most recently the group has received three orders for a total of 280 V52 turbines, equivalent to 238 MW, from China.

Two subsidiaries of Hong Kong Construction Holdings, Asia Wind Power and Hong Kong Wind Power, have placed an order for two wind farms consisting of a total of 58 turbines to be located in Muling in the Heilongjiang Province. Two subsidiaries of the China Datang Corporation, Gansu Datang Yumen Wind Power Co and Datang Chifeng Saihanba Wind Power Generation Co, have also placed orders for 58 and 164 turbines respectively. The turbines will be installed in at the Yumen Diwopu project and a second development at Chifeng, in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, set to be China’s largest wind project when completed. Delivery of the turbines will begin shortly with installation expected to be completed during the second half of 2006.

The latest deal followed a series of announcements from the company including a swathe of developments in Spain that are to use Vestas equipment.

Spanish wind farm developer Generaciones Especiales a unit of HC Energía and Electricidade de Portugal, has ordered 39 units of the V90 1.8 MW wind turbine for two projects in Spain, Munera I and Munera II located in Albacete in the region of Castilla La Mancha.

Delivery of the turbines will begin in the autumn of 2006 and commissioning is planned to take place from the beginning of 2007.

This deal followed an order for a total of 58 of the 2 MW V90 for three wind power projects in Spain from Enel Unión Fenosa Renovables, a branch of the Italian energy group Enel and Spanish Unión Fenosa, one of the largest renewable energy producers in Spain.

Delivery of the turbines will begin in the summer of 2006, and commissioning of the wind farms is planned to take place from the autumn of 2006 until the beginning of 2007. The projects will be located in the regions of Castilla La Mancha and Castilla y León.

The nacelles for the projects will be delivered from Vestas’ new nacelle factory in Villadangos del Paramo (León) in Castilla y Léon, which is scheduled to start production during the first half of 2006.

A further 24 MW turnkey order for the Robres wind power plant in Spain has been placed by the Spanish wind farm developer, Eólica del Ebro, majority held by Spanish developer Eólica Navarra in the last month. The order of 10 units of the V90, 1.8 MW unit and three of the 2 MW unit will be installed at Huesca in the Spanish Aragón region.

Delivery of the turbines will begin at the end of 2006 with the project due for completion during the first half of 2007.

Meanwhile, a 12 MW turnkey order for the Beausemblant wind farm in France has been placed by Eoliennes de Beausemblant, also a subsidiary of the Eólica Navarra Group. The order consists of five units of the 2 MW V90 turbine and one 2 MW V80. The plant will be located in the Drôme department in the region of the Rhônes-Alpes.

The company also recently announced an order from Italy for a total of 55.5 MW for three turnkey wind farms. Two of the wind power plants will be located on the island of Sicily and one in the Puglia region. In total, the order consists of 30 units of the V52, an 850 kW machine, and 15 units of the V80, 2.0 MW turbine. All three wind power plants are expected to be fully commissioned by the end of 2006.

The order has been placed by Italian Vento Power Corporation (IVPC).
