Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has secured an order to deliver 48 MW of turbines for the expansion of the 52 MW Astana wind project in Kazakhstan.
Vestas will supply, install and commission 14 of its V117-3.45MW machines equipped with Vestas Low Temperature Operation for cold climates.
“The turbines are well-suited for optimal performance in Western Kasakhstan’s dry continental climate with extremely fluctuating temperatures and high wind conditions,” the company said.
Delivery is scheduled for the second quarter of 2020 and includes a 10-year service agreement.
Vestas supplied the turbines for the 52 MW first phase of the Astana wind farm, which is owned by Tsatek Green Energy.
