Danish private‑equity infrastructure fund Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has completed its acquisition of Ørsted’s European onshore business and launched it as a new company called Perigus Energy. The business will operate independently across Ireland, Germany, the UK and Spain.

Perigus Energy develops, builds and operates onshore wind, solar and battery storage projects. Its current portfolio has a combined capacity of 826 MW (operational and under construction), generating enough electricity to supply around 600,000 European homes. The projects are supported by a mix of government schemes and corporate power purchase agreements, with existing contracts and partnerships continuing after the deal.

The company is built on teams and projects previously part of Ørsted, including operations in Ireland and Germany. Backed by CIP’s CI V fund, Perigus aims to expand into a multi‑gigawatt pipeline of new projects across Europe.

CIP said the acquisition strengthens its onshore renewables portfolio, while Perigus said the new structure maintains continuity in staff and operations as it focuses on growing clean energy capacity and supporting Europe’s energy security.

Headquartered in Cork, the company employs more than 200 people across offices in Germany, the UK, Spain and Ireland.
