ADS-TEC Energy has completed its first year of operations in Austria, reporting several developments that underline the growing role of battery storage in the country’s renewable energy sector. Within twelve months, the company has launched multiple projects in partnership with utilities, energy providers, and industrial operators. One installation is already active, and others are set to begin operation by mid‑2026.

Austria’s continued expansion of solar, wind, and hydropower capacity has increased the need for flexible storage to maintain grid reliability. According to ADS-TEC Energy CEO Thomas Speidel, battery systems now form an essential part of national and regional energy infrastructure by balancing supply fluctuations and enabling efficient use of renewable energy.

Among the company’s Austrian projects, a reference installation with the utility AAE in Kärnten integrates the ADS‑TEC Energy BESS5000 battery system with an agrivoltaic site combining solar, wind, and hydro generation. The system supports local grid stability and allows energy generated at the site to be traded in the market, illustrating how storage can enhance both operational performance and flexibility in decentralised energy systems.

Roland Klauss, CEO of ADS‑TEC Energy Austria, said the development reflects wider market interest in comprehensive solutions that include both technology and system integration expertise. The Austrian subsidiary now also contributes to projects in neighbouring Southeastern European markets, focusing on design, commissioning, and adaptation to regional regulatory frameworks.

By its first anniversary, ADS‑TEC Energy Austria has positioned battery storage as a core element in Austria’s evolving energy network – serving technical, operational, and resilience needs as the country continues its transition toward a renewable‑dominated power system.
