Eco Wave Power Global has been included on TIME’s 2025 Best Inventions list for its wave energy pilot project at AltaSea in the Port of Los Angeles. The recognition places the company among 300 global innovations “changing the way we live, work, and think.”
The inclusion followed TIME’s rigorous evaluation criteria, which weighed originality, efficacy, ambition, and impact. The magazine’s editors and correspondents worldwide highlighted innovations addressing pressing issues such as climate change and sustainability.
“We are deeply honored that TIME has recognized Eco Wave Power as one of the world’s Best Inventions of 2025,” said Inna Braverman, Founder and CEO of Eco Wave Power. “This accolade validates the significance of wave energy and highlights the potential for sustainable, predictable electricity from our oceans.”
The Los Angeles demonstration – the first onshore wave energy installation in the United States – was developed with Shell Marine Renewable Energy (Shell MRE) and hosted by AltaSea. The system uses patented floaters attached to existing marine structures such as piers and breakwaters, producing renewable electricity in a cost-efficient and scalable manner.
“Being selected by TIME is a major milestone not just for Eco Wave Power, but for wave energy as a whole,” Braverman added. “Our pilot demonstrates that wave energy is ready for broader deployment.”
Eco Wave Power previously launched Israel’s first grid-connected wave energy station, co-funded by EDF Renewables IL and recognised as a “Pioneering Technology” by the Israeli Ministry of Energy.
The company’s international expansion includes new projects in Portugal, Taiwan, and India, expanding its global development pipeline to more than 400 MW.
