Siemens Gamesa has secured a deal to supply 22 SG 4.3-130 turbines for the Mt Cass Wind Farm in North Canterbury, New Zealand, near Waipara. The project, developed, owned, and operated by Yinson Renewables, will add 94.6 MW of clean generation capacity to the local grid.

Once operational, the wind farm is expected to produce more than 300 GWh of electricity annually.

The SG 4.3-130 model features a 130-metre rotor diameter and 4.3 MW rated power per unit, leveraging direct-drive technology for enhanced efficiency at medium-wind sites.

The facility strengthens New Zealand’s renewable energy portfolio as the country continues expanding wind capacity alongside its hydro-dominated grid. Yinson Renewables said the project aligns with its strategy to deliver reliable, sustainable power to meet growing regional demand.
