Sunsure Energy has commissioned a 105 MWp solar project in Kabrai, Mahoba district, Uttar Pradesh, just four months after PPA signing. The plant is the first solar project to evacuate green power under the state’s Green Energy Corridor-II initiative.
The project spans 282 acres and is connected through a dedicated 7 km, 132 kV transmission line. It is expected to generate more than 16.7 crore units of clean electricity annually, while offsetting about 1.2 lakh tonnes of CO2 each year.
The broader GEC-II programme involves roughly Rs 5,400 crore of transmission investment by UPPTCL to build 21 substations and related infrastructure to evacuate nearly 4,000 MW of solar power from Bundelkhand. Sunsure said the successful flow of power from Kabrai through the newly energised 220 kV Kabrai substation sets a precedent for future projects on the corridor.
Sunsure now has 11 operational facilities and 365 MWp in Uttar Pradesh, and says it aims to reach 500 MW in the state by the end of FY26, including a 125 MW / 500 MWh battery storage project.
The company supplies power to industrial customers including LG Electronics, Kajaria Ceramics, Jindal Stainless, Dabur and Bisleri.
