A wind farm in Scotland’s East Lothian is set to become the largest in the UK after the government granted approval for an extension to the existing 20 turbine site.

The Crystal Rig site near Dunbar is now expected to see more than 75 turbines installed and bring the site capacity to 227 MW.

The facility will be operated by the Norwegian firm Fred Olsen Renewables, and a Dumfriesshire-based subsidiary, Natural Power Consultants (NPC).
